Huge 10 to launch gameday availability reports
Blake Baumgartner, ESPN Personnel WriterAug 25, 2023, 08:35 PM ET The Big 10 stated Friday it will make football schedule reports compulsory on gamedays during the 2023 season, making it the only Power 5 conference to actively disperse such reports.Big Ten schools will be needed to send accessibility reports at least two hours before kickoff to the conference workplace. Each program’s reports will be launched on the conference’s website and on X(previously Twitter ). 12 also revealed a similar partnership with USI on Wednesday.The NCAA explored the possibility of injury reports in 2019, but ultimately chose it was not feasible. Previously this month, LSU coach Brian Kelly revealed his program would be releasing NFL-style injury reports twice a week this season in an effort to deter bettors from pestering players and coaches about player availability.The moves followed numerous existing and former Iowa and Iowa State players were charged previously this month with banking on games in which they played.In June, the NCAA updated its penalties for student-athletes who
breach the association’s gambling policy, increasing leniency and, sometimes, basing penalties on the quantity wagered.
