Iowa junior tight end Luke Lachey suffered a “fairly considerable” right leg injury in the Hawkeyes’ 41-10 victory over Western Michigan on Saturday.

“Sadly, you sort of hate to lose Luke to an injury,” Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz said Saturday night. “It’s fairly substantial, so we’ll understand more about that in a couple days. They’re assessing that, however that’s the one disadvantage right there [to the video game]”

Lachey was harmed on an insufficient pass from Cade McNamara on a 3rd down late in the very first quarter, a play prior to kicker Drew Stevens missed a 41-yard basket. Lachey needed to be helped off the field, as he was not able to put any pressure on his ideal foot.Lachey had 10

receptions for 131 yards through two-plus games this season. In 2022, he caught 28 passes for 398 backyards and 4 touchdowns.No.

25 Iowa (3-0) sees Happy Valley for a prime-time match with No. 7 Penn State (3-0, 1-0 Huge Ten) next Saturday night.
