Bohanon enters 2022 with a brand-new team. Bohanon played the last 4 seasons with Baylor and is now signing up with USF. Bohanon remains in competition with Timmy McClain for the beginning job and it’s a toss-up who will win the gig. Bohanon installed 2200 lawns passing along with 18 goals on 12 starts last season while McClain had only 1888 backyards and five touchdowns in 9 starts. It definitely looks like Bohanon needs to have the upper hand in landing the starting task however McClain has had a lot more time with the offense so Bohanon might lose out on the starting slot if he can’t get up to speed.
Bohanon goes into the season in a quarterback competition with Jacob Zeno. Either Bohanon or Zeno will require to impress first-year offending coordinator Jeff Grimes who is coming by from BYU and installing a wide-zone attack. Whoever wins the task has some big shoes to fill as four-year starter Charlie Brewer passed for 9,700 backyards throughout his tenure at Baylor before moving to Utah for the upcoming season. On a positive note, Baylor has some gifted weapons at the pass receiver position with R.J. Sneed, Tyquan Thornton and Gavin Holmes. With the new organizer and system, it’s difficult to trust Baylor enhancing on their offending performance of 34.8% which ranked 118th in the country in 2020.
