Former Wolverines, Patriots OLB Winovich retires

Chase Winovich, who starred as a defensive end and linebacker at Michigan before playing five seasons in the NFL, announced his retirement on Tuesday night.Winovich made 2 All-Big Ten groups in 2017 and 2018 and was taken in the 3rd round of the 2019 NFL draft by the New England Patriots.He led the Patriots in sacks with 5.5 in 2020 while beginning 9 games that season.”I consider myself beyond bless and deeply grateful to have had the opportunity to play the game I like in front of a lot of and on a few of the world’s most significant stages,”Winovich stated in a social media post announcing his retirement. “To estimate my good friend Matthew Slater ‘all of us owe football something’ and that I definitely do.”
Winovich, 28, played 3 seasons for the Patriots before being traded to the Cleveland Browns ahead of the 2022 season. He signed a 1 year handle the Texans this offseason however was released before the season.Winovich made the
Miami Dolphins ‘practice squad and appeared in three games before being launched recently.
