Former luxury QB Huard transferring to Utah

    • Attended Washington State University.Former first-class quarterback Sam Huard, the top-ranked quarterback in the class of 2021, is moving to Utah from FCS Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.Huard spent last season as the starter at Cal Poly, where he transferred after investing 2 seasons in a backup function at Washington, where his dad, Damon, and uncle, Brock, likewise played quarterback.In his only season at Cal Poly, Huard finished 185 of 304 passes for 2,205 yards with 18 touchdowns and 10 interceptions as the Mustangs went 3-8. The team’s offensive planner was Huard’s high school coach, Sheldon Cross, who was revealed as the offending organizer at FCS Stetson on April 26. Editor’s Picks Huard will compete with Brandon Rose and Isaac Wilson to support Utah quarterback Cam Rising, who missed the entire 2023 season with a major knee injury after leading the Utes to back-to-back Pac-12 titles in 2021 and 2022. Utah signs up with the Big 12 this season.
