Michigan got its very first commitment in the 2026 class on Tuesday with a pledge from four-star quarterback Brady Hart, furthering the image of the Wolverines’ future at the position in the wake of national champ and first-round NFL draft pick J.J. McCarthy.Hart, the 6-foot-5 passer from Florida’s Cocoa High School, is ranked 120th in the 2026 ESPN 300 and is the No. 8 pocket passer in his class. He chose Sherrone Moore’s program over finalists Ohio State, LSU, Miami, Florida and Clemson.Hart’s dedication follows an informal
see to Ann Arbor this past weekend. As a first-year starter last fall, Hart led Cocoa High School to a 14-1 record and the Florida 2A state championship with 41 goals to 11 interceptions.Among the top 10 pocket passers in the 2026 class, Hart is now the 5th to announce his verbal pledge, joining Georgia dedicate Jared Curtis (No. 1 pocket passer in 2026 ), Texas promise Dia Bell(No. 2), Florida dedicate Will Griffin (No. 7 )and Notre Dame promise Noah Grubbs (No. 9). Moore and the Wolverines now have a clear course toward the future at quarterback.
Michigan signed four-star dual-threat passer Jadyn Davis throughout the 2024 cycle and has quarterback Carter Smith (No. 14 pocket passer in 2025) committed in the upcoming class.
