Walking canes’ Kinchens out of medical facility, ‘in excellent shape’

CORAL GABLES, Fla.– Miami Hurricanes coach Mario Cristobal states All-American security Kamren Kinchens is in “good shape” after being hauled off the field following a scary hit late in the Canes’ win over Texas A&M.

Cristobal, in his weekly look Monday early morning on WQAM radio in Miami, said all test results have been encouraging. Kinchens was released from a health center Sunday.Kinchens ‘household

posted on social media a photo of him from the health center bed, thanking people for their assistance and saying he was “doing much better.”

“Ran all the tests and all the assessments, and he remains in good shape,” Cristobal stated Monday. “He’s great. He’s going to be well. He’s going to be really good. He does not have anything that’s too severe. He simply has some football stuff. We’re going to remain in excellent shape.”

Kinchens appeared to take a success to his upper body during Miami’s 48-33 win over then-No. 23 Texas A&M on Saturday. Medical staff worked on him for numerous minutes before hauling him off the field.Cristobal didn’t

expose specifics about how long Kinchens would be sidelined. Miami returned to the AP Top 25 today, at No. 22, after defeating the previously ranked Aggies, and plays host to Bethune-Cookman on Thursday night.
