VIEW: Hugh Freeze reveals sophomore Webcam’Ron King made scholarship, colleagues
Auburn redshirt freshman Webcam’Ron King wished to play football for the Tigers so terribly that he wanted to walk on to the team last season. He never anticipated anything more than an area on the roster, happy to play his function for what the team required.
After proving himself, though, he’s earned one. Auburn coach Hugh Freeze made the statement Tuesday in front of the group.

It’s not like King didn’t have options coming out of high school. He held scholarship deals from a number of programs, consisting of Purdue, Navy and Florida Atlantic, however instead decided to stroll on at Auburn. Now its settled for him.

The Auburn Tigers are entering into the 2025 season with expectations that they take huge strides forward. In specific, head coach Hugh Freeze is hoping that pass receiver Web cam Coleman can help his offense enhance next season.
Ahead of the season, Freeze appeared on See Ball Get Ball. There, he praised Coleman and described what it is that makes him such an unique receiver.
“Cam is such a likable kid,” Hugh Freeze said. “Therefore coachable … length initially, and speed. Then he has these natural ball abilities that just, it appears, I don’t care what’s around him. He simply seems like that ball is his, and he’s naturally on the timing where you have actually seen some receivers before they’re in the ideal position, but they’re covered, but the timing of the jump is a little off. They’re not high pointing it. Guy, you don’t ever seem like that’s the case for him.”
