Utah’s ’22 Permanently Video game’ honors Jordan, Lowe
Utah has formally relabelled its spring game the 22 Permanently Game in honor of late players Ty Jordan and Aaron Lowe, who both used No. 22 for the Utes, the school revealed on Wednesday.The game, which
will be held on April 22, likewise acts as a fundraising event for the school’s 22 Permanently Memorial Scholarship in honor of both players.Lowe was a sophomore cornerback who was killed in
a shooting at a party in Salt Lake City on Sept. 26, 2021. Jordan, a running back, passed away on Christmas Day in 2020, the result of an unintentional self-inflicted gunshot wound. The 2 were high school colleagues in Mesquite, Texas, and Lowe switched to No. 22 to honor Jordan after his death. Utah retired the number in 2021.
