UConn tops field as Maui Invitational returns home
Aug 20, 2024, 01:14 PM ET LAHAINA, Hawai’i– Two-time safeguarding national champ UConn will highlight the Maui Invitational, which is going back to the Lahaina Civic Center a year after fatal wildfires required a relocate to Honolulu.The competition, which will be played Nov. 25-27, revealed its welcomed schools and schedule on Tuesday.The Huskies will take on Memphis on the
opening day, followed by Colorado-Michigan State, Auburn-Iowa State and Dayton-North Carolina.Editor’s Picks Tournament chairman Dave Odom called it one of the strongest fields in case’s history. UConn is
making its fifth Maui appearance.Seven of the 8 groups made the NCAA men’s basketball competition in March. North Carolina and Iowa State reached the Sugary food 16. Fires in Maui led to 102 deaths in August and ravaged the town of Lahaina on Maui’s northwest coast. In 2015’s event was played on the University of Hawai’i campus in Honolulu, on the island of Oahu. Purdue beat Marquette to win the 2023 title.
