
Tulane basketball player Glenn passes away in mishap
Jul 28, 2025, 01:06 PM ET Tulane basketball player Gregg Glenn III died last weekend in what the school referred to as a “tragic mishap.”
Tulane announced Glenn’s death Monday but did not divulge further information.
“He was a talented student-athlete who enhanced our lives with his spirit, dedication, and enthusiasm for both sports and academics,” Sarah Cunningham, Tulane’s vice president of student affairs, stated in a declaration released by the school.
“Gregg was an outstanding athlete on our guys’s basketball group and an individual who brought pleasure and light to those around him. His commitment to excellence inspired much of us.”

Glenn started all 34 games as a junior last season for the Green Wave, averaging 10.6 points and 5.3 rebounds. The 6-foot-7 forward was Tulane’s second-leading rebounder and tape-recorded 3 double-doubles.
Cunningham stated Glenn, who was born in Pompano Beach, Florida, was a health and wellness significant at Tulane and was “understood for his infectious personality, favorable energy, and compassion.”
Glenn appeared in 4 games at Michigan during the 2022-23 season before moving to Tulane, where he played in 64 games over two seasons.
