Sources: UCLA likely to land Kent St

ESPN’s Pete Thamel.The junior, who went into the transfer portal Dec. 6, threw for 2,109 lawns and 13 touchdowns this season while hurrying for 492 yards and 5 goals. The 2022 season was a breakout for Schlee who, until this year, had thrown only 36 passes over his very first 2 seasons at Kent State.On the same day that Schlee got in the transfer portal, Kent State head coach Sean Lewis departed from the school to join new Colorado coach Deion Sanders as the Buffaloes’ offending organizer.

With UCLA’s longtime starter Dorian Thompson-Robinson leaving for the NFL draft after 5 seasons and a profession year in 2022, Schlee will immediately be in position to earn the beginning QB spot.Schlee will have big shoes to fill. Thompson-Robinson tossed for 2,883 backyards and 25 touchdowns and had 631 rushing backyards and 11 hurrying touchdowns.UCLA also has four-star quarterback Justyn Martin showing up as a freshman, in addition to redshirt sophomore Ethan Garbers, who was Thompson-Robinson’s backup last season.
