Indiana guard Jason Drake held out of foreign tour due

Indiana basketball began its foreign tour Wednesday night with a dominant 98-47 victory over Universidad de Bayamón.

Visibly missing from the win was Drexel transfer guard Jason Drake. Head coach Darian DeVries validated postgame that Drake is handling a lower-body injury and did not travel with the group to Puerto Rico.

“He’s handling a lower-body injury today,” DeVries stated. “We’ll have more on that later on.”

Drake was also one of two Hoosiers who did not participate in a media-open practice recently. He was limited to riding a stationary bicycle while the rest of the team went through drills.

The other player held out of that practice, Nick Dorn, did make the journey to Puerto Rico however did not see the flooring on Wednesday. It’s not likely he’ll play this week.

Drake averaged 11.1 points, 3.1 assists, and 3.0 rebounds per game in 33 looks for Drexel during the 2024– 25 season.
