Harbaugh: ‘Was not mindful’ of any U-M infractions

EL SEGUNDO, Calif.– After being one of seven members from the 2023 Michigan football program accused of violating NCAA guidelines in a draft of the NCAA’s notice of accusations acquired by ESPN on Monday, Chargers coach Jim Harbaugh rejected any misdeed.
“Never lie. Never cheat. Never ever take. I was raised with that lesson,” he said at a short news conference, appearing to read from a ready statement. “I have actually raised my family on that lesson. I have preached that lesson to the teams that I have coached. Nobody is perfect. If you stumble, you say sorry and you make it right. Today, I do not ask forgiveness. I did not participate, was not conscious nor complicit in those stated accusations. So, it’s back to work and attacking with an interest unidentified to humanity.”
Harbaugh, who left Michigan to coach the Los Angeles Chargers after winning a national championship in January, is implicated of devoting a Level 1 violation, the most major classification in the NCAA’s enforcement procedure. The NCAA implicates Harbaugh of not complying since he denied the organization’s demand to view appropriate messages and phone records from his mobile phone.
