
Hanson kids safe and secure Class B Traditional team golf title
MITCHELL– With a strong display screen of consistency on Friday afternoon, the Hanson kids golf group got hardware to start the season.The Beavers
declared the Class B Traditional team championship at Lakeview Golf Course, shooting a cumulative score of 227, besting both Wall and Sully Buttes by 6 strokes. The Eagles and the Chargers both shot 233, but Wall placed second due to a third-score tiebreaker.
Leading the charge for Hanson was Ben Wilber, who recuperated following a bogey and a double-bogey in his first three holes to shoot 3-over 74 versus Lakeview’s par-71 layout, which included three birdies on his front nine. Wilber completed in fourth location separately, one area ahead of colleague Will Jarding, who shot a 4-over 75 en path to a fifth-place finish. AJ Wilber positioned in 12th following a 7-over 78 for the Beavers.

Wessington Springs’ JD Thompson ended the tournament in 13th location after a 7-over 78, as medals were granted to golfers who completed inside the top-15.
On the ladies side, Clark/Willow Lake’s Brynn Roehrich was the only golf enthusiast in the field to break 80 en route to the win, firing a 6-over 77 with 13 pars on her card. Chester’s Jaden McDonald ended up in 2nd with an 86 followed by Philip’s Addy Miller in 3rd, also shooting an 86.

Platte-Geddes’ Mallory Gant was the leading Mitchell-area finisher, shooting a 95 en path to coming in 10th. McCook Central/Montrose’s Maddy Lauck completed in 11th after a round of 96 and Burke’s Olivia Bull was 13th following a 98.
Miller’s round of 86 moved the Scotties to the women team champion with a cumulative rating of 285 to finest Dell Rapids St. Mary by 8 strokes. Chester (305) was available in third and MCM posted a group score of 318 en path to a fourth-place finish.
