
Blue Jays Roundup: Girls track and field team gets tested
BISMARCK– Wins did not come easy for members of the Jamestown High School track and field group on Tuesday.
Head coach Mike Dietz and the JHS women track and field team placed 11th out of 11 competing groups at the Bismarck Public Schools Invite. Jamestown finished the day with 11 group points. Bismarck Century won the meet with 132 points.
Dietz and company will be back competing on April 24 at Valley City State University. The fulfill is arranged to start at 1 p.m.While it wasn’t
the meet the Jays may have been expecting, the team still managed to pull out multiple top-20 performances.
In the 400 meter dash, Claire Marker placed 11th with a personal best time of 1:04.98. Marker’s sister, Addison, placed 18th in shot put with a throw of 33 feet, 2 inches.
Jozie Davis cracked into the top 10 in the 100 difficulties, completing the straightaway in 18,67 seconds.
Hayden Olson finished in ninth location in triple dive and 10th location in the long dive contest publishing marks of 33 feet, 5.5 inches and 15 feet, 10 inches respectively.
Julia Skari published the team’s highest finish. The senior placed third in the 300 obstacles with a time of 48.51 seconds.
