Auburn QB Thorne still nursing shoulder injury

AUBURN, Ala.– Auburn quarterback Payton Thorne’s status is uncertain for Saturday’s game versus Louisiana-Monroe.
Tigers coach Hugh Freeze said Thorne did not practice throughout the open date recently after hurting his right, throwing shoulder in a loss to Vanderbilt which it’s still not totally recovered.
“Not as far along as I had hoped with the shoulder,” Freeze said on Wednesday. “He believes he’s going to be fine. But he was not all set to play (Tuesday) for sure.”
