Arizona State QB Pyne to get in transfer portal

Arizona State quarterback Drew Pyne informed ESPN he plans to get in the NCAA transfer portal.Pyne played in just two games for Arizona State this season, as he was hurt in the preseason and got closed down for the year in September.He expects to have 3 years of eligibility remaining after

finishing this spring and requesting a medical redshirt. After graduating, he’ll be right away eligible for 2024. Pyne fought injuries this season however will make a full recovery.Pyne is 8-3 as a beginning quarterback in between his time at Notre Dame and ASU.

While at Notre Dame, he had a 4-1 record as a starter against top-25 teams.Pyne is a former ESPN 300 hire who emerged as a strong beginning quarterback at Notre Dame in 2022. He made his mark there, going 8-2 as starter and finishing the season with 22 goal passes and 6 interceptions.Pyne completed 64.6 %of his passes and set a school record with 15 successive conclusions in a game, which he

accomplished against BYU.A flurry of injuries hindered Pyne’s time at ASU. He was the front-runner for the beginning task going into summer camp but never had the opportunity to formalize that because of injury. He last played for ASU against USC on Sept. 23, finishing 21-of-36 for 2 goals and 221 lawns. Pyne led Notre Dame to wins over Clemson, North Carolina and BYU in 2022.
