
Alabama’s Keenan, Lawson named to Bednarik Award watch list
The Chuck Bednarik Award revealed its preseason watch list on Monday, concluding 2 weeks of reveals, and Alabama was represented with 2 of its top players making it.
Crimson Tide defensive lineman Tim Keenan and linebacker Deontae Lawson were named to the Bednarik Award preseason watch list. Related to the Maxwell Football Club, the Bednarik Award is yearly presented to the best protective player in college football. The award is named after Hall of Popularity linebacker Chuck Bednarik, who was a two-time NFL champion and 10-time first-team All-Pro selection for the Philadelphia Eagles from 1949-62.
3 previous Alabama players have previously brought home the Chuck Bednarik Award– Jonathan Allen in 2015, Minkah Fitzpatrick in 2017 and, most just recently, Will Anderson in 2022.
