SEC’s No. 2 profession passer Rogers selects UW

Former Mississippi State quarterback Will Rogers, who ranks No. 2 in SEC history in passing backyards, told ESPN on Friday that he’s devoted to moving to Washington. Rogers is on an official visit at the school this weekend, and he informed ESPN he devoted to the staff. He has one year of eligibility staying and will be immediately eligible. Rogers threw for 12,315 yards over 4 seasons in Starkville. Rogers will be preferred to change Heisman Trophy finalist Michael Penix next season, as Penix led the Huskies to an unbeaten season, the Pac-12 title and a bid in the College Football Playoff. Rogers stated he was brought in to the system run by coach Kalen DeBoer and offending planner Ryan Grubb, as Washington led the country with 343.8 passing lawns per game in 2023. “Undoubtedly, how Coach Grubb runs his offense, it is among the tops in the country with how they score points and how quarterback friendly the system is,” Rogers stated. “People started to figure them in 2022, that’s when the entire nation took notification. Things didn’t go as planned this year [for me], and I went into the portal. I had hoped that they would connect.”Rogers is from Mississippi and went to school about 90 minutes from his home on the borders of Jackson.
