Ga. Tech demotes Thacker, Sherrer now sole DC

    its sole protective coordinator and demoted Andrew Thacker after slipping to 103rd nationally in points allowed.Thacker, the group’s primary protective coordinator considering that 2019 under coaches Geoff Collins and Brent Key, will now serve as safeties coach. Sherrer joined the staff in January as co-defensive planner and linebackers coach. He has planner experience at Tennessee and invested the previous two seasons on the New York Giants’staff.Editor’s Picks “Our efficiency on defense this season hasn’t met the standard that we expect at Georgia Tech,” Secret said in a statement. “While the duty for that does not fall on any one individual– in truth, as the head coach, that obligation begins with me – I do feel that a brand-new voice and viewpoint from the organizer function is needed for us to enhance.
