Regional group coach Benni McCarthy has called 25 players to compete in the championship. Among the selected is striker Masoud Juma. The 29-year-old’s call-up came as a surprise since he had actually lacked a club following his departure from Esteghlal FC at the end of the 2024/25 season. However, coach McCarthy formally verified that Masoud Juma has just signed with Migori Youth FC, a Kenyan Premier League side. This makes him qualified for CHAN, a competition specifically booked for domestic-based players. In addition, veteran goalkeeper Byrne Omondi returns to the squad, joining Faruk Shikhalo and Sebastian Wekesa.

The group also welcomes appealing young skills from the Kenyan U20 group that participated in the U20 AFCON, with Manzur Suleiman, Lewis Bandi, Swaleh Pamba, and Kevin Okumu called to inject younger energy into the side.Kenya Harambee Stars squad for the 2024 African Countries Champion Goalkeepers: Faruk Shikhalo, Sebastian Wekesa, Byrne Omondi Protectors: Abud Omar
