Aaron Rodgers criticizes Jets exit on ‘Pat McAfee Show’ in

However that changed on Thursday during an appearance on “The Pat McAfee Program.”
In his first public comments since his Gang Green exit, Rodgers had some damning remarks about the Jets company and his conference with new coach Aaron Glenn and basic supervisor Darren Mougey in February.
“I figured when I flew throughout nation on my own dime, it was going to be a discussion,” Rodgers stated. “The confusing thing to me, and the odd thing, was when I meet with the coach, we start talking [and after that] he lacks the room. Then he returns with the GM, and we take a seat in the workplace, and I believe we are going to have this long conversation, and 20 seconds in, literally I’m speaking with the GM about something and he leans to the edge of his sheet and says ‘So, do you want to play football?’ I resembled, ‘yeah, I’m interested’ and he states we are going in a various instructions at quarterback.
“I was kind of surprised. Now I’m not stunned due to the fact that I didn’t believe that was a possibility, if they wish to carry on, that’s totally fine, but surprised since I just flew across country and you might have informed me this on the phone.”
Rodgers then stated the Jets would like to know how he wanted to be released from the team and the messaging that would accompany it.
“I don’t give a s– t about the messaging,” Rodgers stated. “Why?”
Rodgers then claimed that Glenn insinuated he would “weaken” the culture that he and Mougey were trying to build with the Jets.
“I do not wish to be up in the room stating something and guys looking back at you,” Rodgers stated that Glenn expressed to him throughout the meeting. “And I said, ‘What does that even suggest? Are you assuming I would be in the back of the room in a team meeting, weakening what you are saying?’
“I stated, ‘You do not understand me’ and he said, ‘You do not know me.’ It was an extremely strange conference, for sure.”
“There was no me pleading, ‘Please have me on the group.’ I do not wish to be a part of that,” Rodgers included. “It was currently an ordeal in some cases. That entire circumstance was insane. That was a little rogue by the head coach.”
Glenn and Mougey have both been tight-lipped about the decision to carry on from Rodgers. At the NFL Scouting Integrate in February, Mougey stated the Jets felt it was “the best thing moving on for the Jets was to enter a different instructions at quarterback. The Jets signed Justin Fields to a two-year agreement two days before Rodgers was officially launched.
Glenn didn’t want to speak about Rodgers and said it was “disrespect” that the media continued to ask concerns about Rodgers.
“It type of pisses me off and some of the other players that that’s what we all discuss,” Glenn said. “You have Quinnen Williams, you have Quincy Williams, you have AVT [Alijah Vera-Tucker], you have Joe Tippmann, all those guys need to be respected as far as winning games likewise.”
The Jets officially launched Rodgers on March 12, however news about the team proceeding came out ahead of Super Bowl LIX. When they traded for Rodgers two years ago, the Jets had expectations of winning a second Super Bowl.
Nevertheless, Rodgers tore his Achilles throughout the 2023 season opener and the Jets ended up 7-10. Rodgers returned and played all 17 games during the 2024 season, however the Jets completed 5-12. Coach Robert Saleh (October) and general supervisor Joe Douglas (November) were both fired.

Rodgers, the four-time NFL MVP and Super Bowl XLV champ, is still considering his football future and is still choosing whether he wishes to return for a 21st season. He has actually gone over joining the Steelers.
In spite of his experience with the Jets, Rodgers is happy about the relationships he formed throughout his two seasons.
“Christopher Johnson called me and he is a wonderful guy,” Rodgers stated. “Everybody that has fulfilled Christopher Johnson has said the exact same thing. He’s a sensational dude, he has to do with the right stuff.
“There’s a lot of fantastic dudes there, fantastic players there, terrific human beings. But there’s certainly some things that need to get repaired there.”
