Sean McVay: I haven’t done a great deal of deal with

After the Rams cut a deal with quarterback Matthew Stafford to guarantee his return for the 2025 season, Stafford stated that he is hopeful there will be more time with the team in his future.

Stafford is under contract through 2026 and head coach Sean McVay said the group is taking a year-to-year approach when it comes to the quarterback. Whatever happens with his agreement, Stafford is 37 which suggests there will be a time faster instead of later on that the Rams require to have another alternative at quarterback. That’s led some to predict that the Rams will take a quarterback early in this month’s draft, but McVay didn’t do much to reinforce that argument while speaking to press reporters from the league conferences recently.

“I believe that’s I believe that’s unlikely,” McVay stated, via SI.com. “I’ll be honest with you, I have not done a whole lot of deal with the quarterbacks. I feel truly excellent about where our quarterback space is, despite the fact that we’re not ignorant to the fact that Matthew ideally got a couple more years that he wants to play. But he’s also discovered the right to be able to say, ‘after this year, hey, I’m gon na, I’m gon na proceed and hang them up.’ I’m confident that that’s not the case, however I have not done enough work to truly have actually an educated viewpoint on that. That’s not something that I would see us going, but perhaps not.”

It’s also unlikely that McVay would share the team’s actual draft method ahead of time, so absolutely nothing is going to be ruled out before the names start coming off the board in Green Bay in a number of weeks. We’ll find out then if there will be anyone behind Stafford aside from Jimmy Garroppolo and Stetson Bennett.
