Wisconsin latest Huge Ten school to offer alcohol

MADISON, Wis.– Wisconsin will start offering alcohol in general seating areas at Camp Randall Stadium this season.The university’s decision, revealed on Monday, leaves Nebraska and Northwestern as the only 2 schools that aren’t permitting general seating alcohol sales in the now 18-team Big Ten. Alcohol sales are likewise set to begin this season at Michigan Stadium.Wisconsin will likewise
allow alcohol to be sold at UW Field Home, home to the ladies’s beach ball and men’s battling groups. It was already offered at Kohl Center for men’s and females’s basketball games and LaBahn Arena, home to women’s hockey.” The option to buy alcohol
is common at college athletic venues all over the nation and we’re pleased that we can now offer it as part of the fan experience at Camp Randall,”Wisconsin Chancellor Jennifer L. Mnookin stated in a statement.”I appreciate the work our athletic and administrative teams have done to assemble a plan that stabilizes this chance with public safety.” The alcohol sales start with the home opener against Western Michigan on Friday, Aug. 30. Fans will be allowed to purchase just 2 drinks at a time per person. The
university cops department will have an increased existence at games, the school said.A part of the income from alcohol sales will provide financial support for campus-led efforts to promote trainee wellness and to encourage accountable habits around using alcohol.
